Our first priority when we move to Japan will be to learn the language so that we can better interact and minister to those around us.  During this time, we will be partnering with an existing work.  After Language School, we will seek to evangelize, preach the gospel, plant a church and disciple new converts in a city that does not yet have a witness for Christ.

Japan is the economic center for Asia.  It is a wealthy country and very technologically advanced.  Japan boasts a 99% literacy rate, but unfortunately many of these people have never even heard about Jesus Christ.  Shintoism, Buddhism, Confucianism, and other religions have blinded the eyes of many.  Less than 1% of the people profess "Christianity" of any kind.  There are many cities with thousands of people that do not have a Bible preaching church.  Missionary David Harris wrote this article in BIMI World magazine about the great need of Northern Japan.  The harvest truly is great, but the laborers are few!
