The Johnson Family
Hi, we are Paul, Sarah, Timothy, Karen, Ethan, Joshua, and Charity Johnson, missionaries to Japan. We count it a privilege that God has called us to the country of Japan. We are sent out of Heritage Baptist Church in Woodbridge, VA and partnering with Baptist International Missions, Inc.
Aomori, Japan
During our first two years in Japan, we had been partnering with an existing work until we completed Language School. After Language School, we moved to the city of Aomori, Japan. Situated in the northern Tohoku region, Aomori prides itself in it's apples and an annual snowfall of 25 ft. We were able to restart Aomori Grace Baptist Church in July of 2014. We are thankful for the light in Aomori, but many more churches are needed in this city of 275,000. Pray with us as we spread the light of the gospel in Aomori, Japan. |
Japan's great needJapan is the economic center for Asia. It is a wealthy country and very technologically advanced. Japan boasts a 99% literacy rate, but unfortunately many of these people have never even heard about Jesus Christ. Shintoism, Buddhism, Confucianism, and other religions have blinded the eyes of many. Less than 1% of the people profess "Christianity" of any kind. There are many cities with thousands of people that do not have a Bible preaching church. Missionary David Harris wrote this article in BIMI World magazine about the great need of Northern Japan. The harvest truly is great, but the laborers are few!
Land of the Rising Sun...Psalm 113:3
From the rising of the sun unto the going down of the same the LORD's name is to be praised. |
